A gentle introduction to neurodivergence with a focus on two of the most common conditions: ADHD and Autism. In the UK around 80% of adults with ADHD and 90% of adults over the age of 40 with autism remain undiagnosed, rates in New Zealand are likely very similar. Get a lived-experience perspective from someone with both ADHD and autism, exploring how these conditions can present in real-world settings, including the workplace. Organisations that take the time to understand and appropriately accommodate neurodivergent workers often report meaningful long-term benefits, including strong retention, improved problem solving, and diverse cognitive strengths. Research consistently shows that many workplace accommodations are low cost or cost neutral, and when implemented thoughtfully, the resulting benefits can be significant for both employee and employer.
